Careers & Employability (General)

LIST A COURSE
Careers & Employability (General)

Gone are the days of a ‘job for life’. Career learning is no longer about settling on a single occupation, but rather being adaptable, responding to change, and building transferable skills that can be applied across a range of industries and careers. Students need to be flexible, resilient, and prepared to adapt to an unpredictable world.

This course has a strong focus on employability skills — the skills employers value regardless of industry – including communication, teamwork, digital literacy, problem solving, time management, and critical thinking. Students will learn how to develop and articulate these skills in ways that build self-awareness and support success in job applications and interviews.

Course Structure
Students examine career pathways, personality types, workplace culture, and the impact of global, social, and environmental factors on work and workplaces.

Why Choose This Course?
Careers & Employability is hands-on and practical. It develops communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills—key to succeeding in any workplace. It is especially valuable for those entering apprenticeships or the workforce directly after school.

Future Career Opportunities
This course supports pathways into trades, traineeships, and customer service roles, and is compulsory for students undertaking Workplace Learning.

Pre-requisites
