Year 9 Courses

Welcome to the Year 9 Subject Selection process.

Year 9 offers greater opportunities to explore your interests and develop your strengths through a wider range of elective subjects. This guide will help you complete your selections correctly.

Your Elective Subjects

In Year 9, students study four elective subjects across the year.

Two periods per weekFull school year

Choose electives that interest you, challenge you, and allow you to explore areas you may wish to pursue in the future.

Reserve Electives

You must also choose three reserve electives. These are used if:

  • one of your preferred electives does not run due to low enrolment, or
  • there is a timetable clash between your selected subjects.

Important: Choose reserve subjects that you would genuinely be happy to study.

Making Your Selections Online

You will receive an email to your College email account with instructions and a link to the online subject selection system.

As you make your selections:

  • Your choices are saved automatically — there is no Save or Submit button.
  • You can return and make changes until the closing date.
  • Once finished, download your Subject Selection Report from the home screen and email a copy to yourself for future reference.
