The Year 9 Netball Academy is a specialised program designed for students who demonstrate a strong interest and commitment to netball. Students are invited to apply for inclusion in the academy through a selection process.
The academy consists of multiple lessons each week and incorporates both practical and theoretical components to support the development of students as athletes, leaders, and team members.
Practical Components
Theoretical Components
A compulsory co-curricular component forms part of the academy, with students expected to attend a one-hour training session each week, either before or after school. Throughout the year, students will participate in a range of fixtures and competitions against other schools and colleges, providing opportunities to apply their skills in competitive environments.
The program also includes excursions, guest presenters, goal-setting workshops, and leadership development activities. These experiences are designed to enhance students’ understanding of the sport while fostering personal growth, resilience, teamwork, and leadership skills.
