Year 9

Digital Drawing

Year 9 expands technical and creative skill. Students EXPLORE advanced illustration techniques such as shading, blending, perspective, texture and colour harmony. 

Students CONNECT through shared storytelling and visual narratives—developing characters, scenes and design ideas collaboratively. 

Students CREATE more refined artworks including concept art, environment designs, graphic novel panels and illustrated posters. 

Assessment 
Practical: 

  • Visual diary development and digital process experimentation 
  • Series of structured digital works (character turnarounds, scenes, compositions) 
  • Major resolved artwork showing conceptual and technical refinement 

Written: 

  • Artist research task (digital illustrators, animators, graphic novel artists) 
  • Written explanation of conceptual intent and visual strategies
