Continue your Japanese journey in Year 9, where language learning comes alive with fun experiences that make Japanese a subject you’ll look forward to each week!

This course is designed for students who have already begun Japanese in Year 8 and want to keep building their skills, preparing them for future travel, exchange programs, and pathways into senior Japanese.

You will build confidence in reading, writing, listening, and speaking through activities that connect language with real-life experiences, including:

• 🎥 Watching Japanese shows and videos to understand authentic language in action.
• 🎨 Craft and cultural workshops.
• 🍱 MasterChef Japanese cooking sessions
• 🗣️ Speaking games and role-plays to help you use Japanese naturally with your classmates.

Year 9 Japanese is not just about learning words; it’s about experiencing Japan in your classroom while strengthening your skills for future Japanese studies.
 
Assessment 
Assessments are practical and engaging, allowing you to showcase your learning across all four skill areas:

• Role plays where you practise real-life conversations.
• Oral interviews to build confidence speaking Japanese.
• Assignments that include creative tasks.
• Term tests to track your progress.
