Year 9

Cinematic Intelligence

Ready to level up your filmmaking?

Step into the director’s chair and explore how next-gen technology is changing the way stories are told on screen. In Cinematic Intelligence, you’ll take your skills in filming, directing, and editing to the next level—while experimenting with powerful AI tools that help you brainstorm ideas, write scripts, generate effects, and even assist in post-production.

Create explosive action sequences, dramatic plot twists, or stylised short films using the same techniques you see in movies and streaming shows. Whether you’re planning the perfect shot or collaborating with an AI co-director, this course is all about combining creativity and tech to bring your boldest stories to life.

Studio areas you’ll explore may include:
  • Advanced filming techniques and camera movement
  • Using AI for scriptwriting, concept art, or storyboarding
  • Visual effects and green screen work
  • Stop motion animation and scene choreography
  • Editing with professional-grade software

Assessment
This course is project-based and highly practical. For each production task, you’ll also complete a self and/or peer evaluation to reflect on your creative process, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Students intending to study Media Studies in Years 11 and 12 would benefit from this useful preparation.
