Materials

Materials introduces students to the wonderful world of design and technology. Students will obtain skills in a practical workshop environment along with an awareness of occupational health and safety. Students will be given the opportunity to make a variety of projects while developing skills using hand and power-tools as well as fixed and computer-controlled machinery.  

Areas of study:  

• Design using materials such as wood, metals, composites and plastics.  
• Computer assisted design and manufacturing using lasers, plasma and vinyl CNC machines.  
• Hands-on production of unique projects.
