Welcome to Cinematic Universe—your backstage pass to the world of screen storytelling. From epic movie trailers and short films to viral social media edits, you’ll explore how powerful visuals and smart storytelling come together across different platforms. In this course, you’re the director, editor, and creative force.

Use industry-standard software to film, edit, and produce your own content—and take it further by integrating AI to help write scripts, design effects, animate sequences, or remix footage. You’ll have the freedom to choose your style, build your own brand of storytelling, and create a visual identity that’s uniquely yours.

Whether you’re producing a high-stakes action scene, crafting a mockumentary, or designing your own series trailer—this is your chance to create your own cinematic universe.

Areas to be studied include the following:

• Filming and directing for different platforms and genres
• World-building through editing, audio, and visual effects
• Use of AI for creative enhancement and experimentation
• Stop motion animation and motion graphics
• Multi-format production (e.g. trailers, reels, short films)

Assessment
This course is all about building a creative portfolio. Each major project will include a self and/or peer reflection to help you develop your unique voice, evaluate your techniques, and plan for future media opportunities.
