General
The study of geography draws on students’ curiosity about the diversity of the world’s places and their peoples, cultures and environments. It enables them to appreciate the complexity of our world and the diversity of its environments, economies and cultures and use this knowledge to promote a more sustainable way of life and awareness of social and spatial inequalities.
Geography helps you to make sense of the world around you. It’s hands on, relevant, and fun. Whatever your passion for the world – fascination with landscapes or concerns about sustainability – geography will provide you with knowledge and transferable skills that will reward you personally and advance you professionally.
Pathways Beyond School
Students develop the knowledge, understandings and skills in this unit that are relevant to the world in which they live and which are also appropriate to careers in the environmental protection/rehabilitation, urban and regional development, and tourism industries. Students will attend a camp to Rottnest to investigate a local environment at risk and investigate how these places are being protected.
