Welcome to the Year 9 Course Overview
Year 9 is the first year where groups of electives are not SCSA mandated. In Years 7 and 8, students had the opportunity to try a variety of electives in the many different areas ranging across the Arts, Technologies and Italian. Moving into Year 9, students select 4 electives that run for the whole year. This builds on their experience in the previous years and allows for deeper learning to occur in these areas as students are able to learn and develop these skills for a longer period of time.
Please note that students are not required to select any of the Sport Academies as an elective option. These electives will be allocated after selection trials are finalised.
We encourage you to spend time reading through the different electives in this Academic Pathways Guide to ensure you are comfortable with your choice as the electives will run for the entire year and changes will not be possible next year.
