Wearable Art & Fashion

Elevate your creativity and prepare for senior Visual Arts pathways. Students explore advanced fashion illustration, garment construction, structural design and innovative materials. You’ll study contemporary fashion artists, runway presentations and the growing field of sustainable design.

Students connect with real-world design processes mood boards, concept pitches, prototyping and refinement working both independently and collaboratively. Reflection, critique and resilience are central as you develop your own design identity.

You will create high-impact wearable artworks suitable for exhibition or performance contexts. This course forms an excellent foundation for ATAR and General Visual Art in Years 11 & 12.

Assessment Practical:

  • Design folio & illustration
  • Prototype development
  • A final wearable art garment or sculptural fashion piece

Written:

  • Analytical study of fashion designers or movements
  • Concept statement justifying ideas, influences & materials
