Transform ideas into large-scale artworks that make an impact! In Year 10 Public Art & Murals, students EXPLORE the world of contemporary public art—street murals, installations, community art and large-scale visual storytelling. You will learn advanced techniques in composition, scaling, projection, colour theory and concept development, building the artistic confidence needed for senior Visual Arts pathways.
Students work collaboratively to CONNECT with the College environment, designing artworks that respond to real spaces and audiences. You will examine public art through a cultural, social and historical lens, analysing how artists use the public sphere to communicate powerful messages.
The course encourages students to CREATE bold and meaningful artworks that push creative boundaries. You will refine ideas through visual diaries, experimentation and peer feedback, developing the independence and resilience essential for General and ATAR Visual Art in Years 11 & 12.
Assessment
• Practical: Design development, experimental processes, individual and group mural projects
• Written: Artist research, analysis of public art practices, concept justification
