Certificate III in Sport & Recreation (Academy)

Certificate III in Sport & Recreation (Academy)

The College offers this course for students with a strong interest in the Sport and Recreation industry who wish to continue their development within the AFL, Basketball, or Netball Academies. Delivered over Years 11 and 12, this two-year program enables students to achieve a Certificate III in Sport and Recreation while remaining actively involved in their chosen Academy pathway.

Unlike traditional courses of study, students are not assessed through grades or marks. Instead, they are provided with opportunities to demonstrate competency across a range of practical and theoretical units.

Units of competency include:

  • Senior first aid certificate
  • Game sense and structures
  • Skill development
  • Coaching and umpiring

In addition to these units, students participate in two Academy-based camps designed to support the practical components of the program. These camps provide valuable opportunities for students to further develop their organisational, interpersonal, leadership, and teamwork skills in a dynamic sporting environment.

Pathways Beyond School

This qualification provides students with a strong foundation for a variety of pathways within the sport and recreation industry.
